Dog bashing -continued!!!

Glen Eira Clowncil really takes the cake! It’s Animal Management Plan states that its officers are ‘friendly’ and are not dressed in ‘military style uniforms’. No folks, they’ve been known to dress in uniforms that are distinctly similar to policemen’s uniforms. Further, they leap out from behind trees, park in unobtrusive spots, approach dog-owners who are doing nothing wrong, simply to intimidate and create the message ‘big brother is watching’. But the most priceless tactic is to tell 70 year old men that their 14 year old crippled with arthritis lab is a ‘danger’ to the community and that if they wanted to they could fine this individual $2000. How’s that for proactive intimidation and threats?

The answer to such tactics is to report all such incidents to the ombudsman. Let us know if you have been on the receiving end of this kind of treatment.

Shadowmaster, did you also know that these ‘friendly’ individuals also carry cards with ’stars’ - just like wyatt earp, and all those other sheriff type stars of the wild, wild, west? When you think about it, it’s really ludicrous. Leaping out from behind trees and thrusting a sheriff’s star under your nose for 3 seconds. Sounds like the fantasy/invention of a 3 year old! Of course, names are almost illegible on these cards.

I wonder what horrible childhood experience these staffers had as children to take on a job of policing old dogs and elderly folk. Why don’t they get a job as a policeman or a security guard and take on the fit and able that can defend themselves at an equal level. My elderly, name unknown, neighbour is trembling with fear he would lose his dog because someone may report it barking!!! The poor dog no longer has a voice it can use….
